Fun Fall Things
Well, living in Florida during Fall is kind of a drag. A big one. The weather is hot + muggy and there is no color other than green in the trees. As an Ohio raised girl I crave the air, smell and colors of fall in the Midwest. I've been in Florida for two and a half years, but I still get a touch of depression when fall 'doesn't' come to Florida + I think I always will. This year I was feeling HOOOOMESICKKKKK something fierce. I shared earlier that I think a lot. So immediately I think about Roman and what a its going to be like to be raised in Florida. Is he going to grow up with those mid-western values, be kind or ever have a white Christmas? Extreme, I know. But then I realized I'm a giant ding dong and I decide these things! Not where we freaking live. Kyle and I will raise him to be a kind person with those cherished mid-western values and he WILL see a white Christmas, someday.
Crazy how missing Fall can make you think about what kind of human your child will be someday. Welcome to my life... AND below are some of my favorite fall activities with some of my favorite people.
.....
First, I made my husband go to a pumpkin patch. Are there real pumpkin patches in Florida? We went to Farmer Mikes in Bonita Springs. Hurricane Irma kind of wiped them out, but cute pictures were accomplished :)

I did get to go to Ohio this Fall + it was glorious! We were so excited to get away for a long weekend at Heidelberg University where we graduated from. Kyle and I met our junior year of college at Heidelberg, so taking Roman back to meet friends was really special for us. We stayed with a dear friend who fed us everything we asked for even though we had a little stomach bug and couldn't enjoy it fully. BUMMER. It snowed on Saturday and was 36 degrees at the game. Perhaps this was a little colder than we would have hoped, but getting all bundled up made me realize I'm glad most days I can throw a romper on Roman and call it a day...

Dear Florida,
Please let me put this hat on Roman again before his head gets too big.
Love, Tess
.....
Lastly, babes first Halloween. Kyle and I both grew up with homemade costumes so it wasn't going to be any different for Roman's first Halloween! Kyle is obsessed with Batman and I'm not all about that life so we compromised and Roman was a Bat. He did a pretty good job keeping his ears on, but he just wasn't into the pictures. He smiled + stared at everyone that tried to give him candy. At least the poor kid didn't have to trick or treat in snow like I did growing up....
ABSOLUTELY MY FAVORITE OF ALL TIME

Basically, ya just got to fake it till you make it in this place with forever summer. I will get better at enjoying this beautiful state because really, how can you beat it? Candles, pumpkin spice and turning the air conditioning down + putting on a sweater help too.... just in case you were wondering. :)
